Re: Kispiox Community COVID-19 Lockdown

Dear parents/ guardians,

As most of you already aware, there are 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Moricetown. Contact tracing is taking place and some people remain under quarantine until they receive their test results back. Kispiox Band Council and the EOC team made a lockdown announcement on September 18th, 2020 that people who are classified as outsiders, people who do not reside in Kispiox, will not be permitted into the village. The community of Kispiox cannot be taking chances and we need to play it safe, so for this week we will continue to provide remote learning for our students. It is also important for parents/ guardians to understand that we are working on pods for all Kispiox Community School students, so that we can reach all our students during this pandemic. Moricetown, Gitsegukla, Gitwangak, and Gitanyow schools have all taken precautions that meet the needs of their community. This pandemic is very serious, and if COVID-19 were to get into our community it could be devastating. Be patient, take care of yourself and your family.
