KISPIOX COMMUNITY SCHOOL

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

This letter is to inform you that Kispiox Community School has made the decision to extend online/remote learning until January 22nd, 2021.  This decision has been made after careful consideration and in consultation with the Kispiox Band Emergency Operation Centre team (EOC) and in consideration of the precautionary steps being taken by other communities.  Lockdown procedures will continue to remain in place as precautionary measures to safeguard our students, staff, and community against COVID-19 until further notice.  We will continue to have a learning pod (bubble) in place in Hagwilget to provide support for students in those catchment areas.   The Senden pod will continue with remote learning. Starting on Monday, January 11th, 2021 these changes will go into effect until January 22nd, 2021.

  • On Monday, January 11th, 2021 staff will prepare packages and/or online-remote learning for each student by their teacher.
  • The pod in Hagwilget will keep the same schedule.
  • Contingent on approval by Glen Vowell Band, a learning pod has been set up at the Salvation Army Church in Glen Vowell for those students needing support.
  • The delivery of educational support will be by learning packages and/or online-remote learning.

We will continue to work on trying to meet the educational needs of your child, but it is important to remember that there are three important preconditions for this, and that is the cooperation of the child, the parent and the school.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call Kispiox Community School at 250-842-6148.

Sincerely,

Brian Muldon
