Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is to inform you that Kispiox Community School will remain closed until March 12th, 2021 due to an increase of COVID-19 cases in our area and for the safety of our children, staff, and community.   We will remain on remote/online learning until this time, so it is important that you keep encouraging your child/children to do their schoolwork.  Report cards will be going out by Wednesday, March 10th, 2021 for your child.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher for help or resource material.

The school will be closed from Monday, March 15th to Friday, March 26th, 2021 for the Spring Break vacation.  The school will re-open on Monday, March 29th, 2021 for regular in-class instruction barring any more unforeseen circumstances.  During this time, it is hoped that our communities will be able to receive vaccinations during this time to help make things a lot safer for everyone.

The pods in Glen Vowell and Hagwilget will remain open for instruction up until March 12th, 2021, but parents will be notified if there are any new developments, in which case the pods can be closed for safety.  The Senden pod will remain closed and will continue with online/remote learning during this period.

I would like to thank our community members and all members of the surrounding communities for your patience and understanding at this time.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all those families and individuals who have been affected by COVID-19.  Exercise caution, keep yourself and families safe, and remember to keep your social distancing.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 250-842-6148.

Sincerely,

Brian Muldon

Principal
