The advent of the COVID-19 virus has placed the Kispiox Community and the globe in a very perilous time in history.  The priority of Kispiox Community School during this unique time is the health and safety of our students, staff and community.

We are working closely with Gitxsan Health, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, and following the operational guidelines as set out by the Province of British Columbia.

In preparation to open Kispiox Community School to in-class instruction, we are following the Provincial Health and Safety Standards and Guidelines for K – 12 Settings.  Click here for a copy of these guidelines.

We also realize that many parents/guardians have concerns, so we are providing flexible alternatives to in-class instruction such as online/distributive learning and different catchments.  However, it is important that you indicate to Kispiox Community School the method you wish your child to receive for logistical concerns, planning and scheduling.

I am also pleased to inform you that we have hired two new teachers, Sarah-Monique Chanona for the grade 7 class and Benjamin McIntosh for the grade 3/4 class. Our school is also taking more of an outdoor education/environmental education approach in certain subject areas that is consistent with the BC Provincial Curriculum Standards, which will be more suitable to social distancing.  Enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing and hearing from you.
