Potential COVID-19 Exposure to students and staff at Kispiox Community School
Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff, and Community members,
This letter is to inform you that Kispiox Community School has been exposed to another confirmed case of COVID-19; therefore, the school will be closed until Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Unless notified otherwise, school will resume on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
Safety precautions are put in place for the safety of the students and staff to minimize further cases of COVID-19. The students will go back on remote learning and will continue their education remotely. Please stay in touch with your child’s teacher and complete the assignments.
Northern Health follows up with those who have been identified as a close contact and notifies those who need to self-isolate. It is important that parents and guardians remain vigilant and continue to monitor their children for symptoms. If you are feeling ill or you are showing signs or symptoms, call the Kispiox Health Centre 250-842-6236. They are able to administer COVID-19 testing.
“People with COVID-19 are considered contagious (infectious) from 48 hours before onset of their symptoms (before they may realize they are sick), up until 10 days after their symptoms began.”
The pods in Glen Vowell, Hagwilget and Senden will remain open. The Anspayaxw Aboriginal Headstart will also remain open.
Take care, social distance, wash your hands, and be kind to one another.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 250-842-6148 or at home 250-842-6822.
